I would like to thank everyone that has been part of our roller-coaster ride for the last 2,5 years. From idea inception to roll-out.
I would like to add a special thank you to Andy for his willingness to hold in there whilst we developed the online platform for 1st line patient management. Also, Jeroen, thank you for helping us with the financial management.
I would also like to thank Joop, Theresa and Tjana for showing that cross cultural, cross disciplinary internships are possible, can have interesting results and that business and medicine can work in partnership.
I would also like to thank all the Erasmus University students that participated in internships and the amazing insights and ideas they generated. It has been a pleasure working with you and a wonderful journey to share with you.
For those who would like to know:
Our feet on the ground in South Africa has suffered some grave losses; from Benji's untimely demise by the hands of someone that could not possible understand how much he meant to us, to Government funding programs that shut down and policy changes that had our charities lose 80%+ of their personnel in a matter of days. This meant that there was no one to use the systems and as such a business model that that is data driven cannot be sustained.
If in the near future we do find funding for screening programs , the software is still ready and the partnerships we have forged in South Africa can be rekindled. For now I can unfortunately not fund this on my own anymore and have to shut things down.
I will miss working with each and every one of you.
May your futures be bright.
